If you are looking for HD Set Top Box or wireless cable providers in Pakistan
then there are few options for unlike other developing countries.
Unfortunately mainly all provide channels in standard quality of 480p
which is not enough compare to the LED TV sets we have in the market
right now. So that’s why most of the Pakistani people use Indian DTH
services like DishTV, TataSky, Sun Direct, Airtel, VideoCond2h, Reliance
Digital TV etc. They all provide you HD services that is why people are
moving towards these services very rapidly.

Wireless Cable Providers
The only wireless cable provider company in Pakistan and that too
with very limited services. At this point of time they are only
providing service in
Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
So if you are in other parts of country you have to rely on other
options. They are providing two types of Set Top Boxes at this time.
- DWN SD STB(80 SD channels)
- DWN HD STB(75 SD channels, 1 HD channel)
Now the only difference between SD and HD box here is one channel(Ten
HD or Sony Six HD or Star Sports HD) which is quite surprising. They
change the channel on user demand so if any one pf the above mention
channel is telecasting Pakistani match than they will also telecast that
HD channel which is good thing.
2. Indian DTH Providers
Other options for you are Indian Direct to Home cable providers(
DishTV,
TataSky,
Sun Direct,
Airtel,
VideoCond2h,
Reliance Digital TV) which are very good when it comes to HD channels but of course they will telecast 99% Indian channels.

Recently they add 10 Pakistani channels(Express News, Express
Entertainment, Dunya News, Samaa News, Hum TV, KTV, ARY Digital, PTV
Home, ARY Musik, Filmazia, Aplus).
Wired Cable Providers
If you are using PTCL broadband internet in your home and are not a
big fan of HD channels than PTCL Smart TV is best option for you. The
best thing about their device is that you don’t have to pay any upfront
charges like 7 or 10 thousands but you need at-least 2MB connection as
this service will not work on 1MB broadband service. After that all you
need to do is to call PTCL on this number 0800-80-800 and book your
order.
Pros
- 150+ Pakistani & Indian Channels
- Good SD quality without any interruption
- No Upfront charges(pay extra Rs.200/- per month for device)
- Only Rs.450/- per month
Cons
Nayatel is another option but unfortunately at this time they are
providing service in Rawalpindi Islamabad only. I will only recommend
you this service if you also want to buy broad band connection because
their service is way better than PTCL. You can pay them Rs.13,000/-
upfront charges(one time) for HD device or pay only Rs.1000/- per
month(450 cable + 550 device charges) without paying any upfront
charges. Their services are similar to PTCL with but good thing is that
they are providing 15 HD channels with full 1080p video resolution.
WorldCall also provides digital TV and cable TV services for Lahore
residents only. You can order your new connection by simply calling at
111-111-965 and their support staff will guide you about all details. At
this point of time they are providing 80 SD channels with some Indian
and international channels. Their monthly charges are Rs.450/- along
with Rs.750/- for Set Top Box.
Last but not least is the Wateen Cable Network which also provide you
telephony services. Again you will face coverage area problem in this
service and if you are lucky than here is list of channels provide by
them.
